The Questioner: What is the ruling on moist discharge that comes out from a woman? Does it nullify wuḍūʾ? And is it najis (impure) or not?

Shaykh Muqbil: As for impurity, then it is not impure. As women were present during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and there was nothing reported that any woman asked the Prophet ﷺ regarding it and he said: “It is impure.”

As for nullifying or invalidation (of wuḍū), then if it is continuous such that if she were to go and make wuḍūʾ, and it [continues to] exit [from her] while she is on the way, or as she is praying, then she is considered like the one afflicted with urinary incontinence (سلس البول – sals al-bawl) or istiḥāḍah (prolonged bleeding).

Thus, there would be no blame upon her, in shāʾ Allāh, and she prays in the state she is upon.

However, if it is possible for her to go and make wuḍūʾ, and it is possible for her to pray while maintaining ṭahārah (ritual purity), then it is obligatory for her to go and perform wuḍūʾ.
